Overnight Market Review (April 29): U.S. first-quarter GDP unexpectedly missed expectations on Thursday, but real final sales, a measure of domestic demand that strips out trade and inventories, rose 2.6% on an annualized basis, faster than the fourth quarter of 1.7%. Subsequently, the dollar’s gains narrowed, and U.S. stocks rose. U.S. stock index futures fell one after another in the pre-market on Friday, mainly due to the disappointing earnings reports of Amazon and Apple that hit market sentiment. However, the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation eased slightly.
Trading strategy deployment: It is recommended to go short at a high level.
