
Overnight Market Review (2022.5.11) On Tuesday, before the release of US inflation data, the market was volatile. The dollar rose slightly, gold and oil prices were under pressure, Asian and European stock markets rebounded, and U.S. stocks were mixed. Gold futures edged lower in midday Asia on Wednesday, hitting a three-month low as investors focused on inflation data due later in the day. The U.S. dollar, which is usually negatively correlated with gold’s moves, retreated, but not by much. The dollar has continued to rise over the past five weeks on expectations that the Federal Reserve will tighten policy to fight inflation.
